DANIELS RESTAURANT – PHASE II
Since purchasing Daniels Restaurant in 2013 many changes have occurred…we believe all for the better. Of course anyone who has dined at Daniels recently has seen some of the many different renovations that have taken place. All along we have kept the staples of what Debbie and Dan Johengen created. The same popular dishes still exist on the menu along with some of the industry’s top service professionals. But now some new things have been added to the restaurant. Daniels has now evolved into a more modern, upscale restaurant. As we like to say “Not your parents or grandparent’s Daniels.” Last year we remodeled the interior of the restaurant with a warmer, softer color scheme. Remodeling of both the ladies and men’s restrooms have been completed (We’ve been told we have great bathrooms!). A lot of these interior changes are still ongoing and more changes are planned. Hence, this is what we call “Phase II.”
Last fall we started our outdoor patio construction and are currently working to finish that project up. With the weather changing we anticipate a busy Spring / Summer on our new patio. We are also putting some finishing touches on a “Grand Opening” party for the patio. We’ll be setting a date for this event soon, along with a rain date if needed. There will be invitations going out shortly for what should be a fun time. Free hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar, many other surprises and giveaways will be included in the festivities. We are also looking to open on Mondays during the warmer season so you will have more options when it comes to dining and outdoor eating. Mondays may also feature our “Oyster Bar” and $5.00 cocktails!!!
“Phase II” will continue with the changing of our logo, seasonal menus and the continuation of using the local farms in our area. We will be introducing our new “Tasting Menu” in addition to our regular dinner menu. This menu will represent small plates, upscale sandwiches, appetizers, salads and more. This is different from our “Prix Fixe” (which it is replacing). It will allow you to build your own menu and lend itself to more “shareable” dishes. Everything is a la carte, so whether you are looking for a small bite, snack or a full meal, this menu will accomplish that.
“Phase II” will also continue inside with a new bar. Yes, you read it right. For 27 years Daniels has only had a service bar. We are in the early stages of putting in a full service bar with seating, bar menus, bar snacks, specialty drinks and more. This should not take away from our seating or take away from the intimate feeling you have come to know at Daniels.
Daniels has been known as a “special occasion” place, a very “expensive night out,” or as we’ve heard…“A place my parents go.” We are evolving that image from being just that. We want to ensure a special occasion place, but at the same time a place to grab a casual, quick bite at the bar or late night dessert and glass of wine. We would love the opportunity for you to dine with us and see some of the “New Daniels.” We are open Tuesday through Saturday at 5 p.m. Lunch is served every Friday from 12 to 2 and soon Monday evenings on the patio.
